A New Amino Acid Surfactant of Low Irritability |

Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd. (President: Dr. Tadashi Hirata) has noted the excellent properties of glutamine and developed "triethanolamine N-cocoyl-L-glutamine solution", a low-irritating surfactant for the hypersensitive skin and will launch it under the brand name "Form Up ® Doucé -GM" for cosmetics manufacturers and others from autumn this year. The product is a low-irritating and slightly acid surfactant made of the ingredients L-glutamine and natural coconut oil. It is compounded in various toiletry products including shampoo, rinse, face soap, body soap, etc. It is less irritating than the conventional amino acid surfactants and has excellent properties like moderate cleansing effect, producing fine foams, making the cleansed skin smooth and, when compounded in shampoo, making the washed hair neat. L-glutamine is used first as the main ingredient of surfactant in the cosmetics industry. It is applied to medical use for ulcer treatment and has been demonstrated to have the effects of promoting the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid of an acid mucopolysaccharide, etc. for the smooth skin. It uses natural substances as the main ingredients and is highly biolytic. This product is friendly to the environment and skin and the demand for it will grow in future. Remarks: In the brand name "Form Up ® Doucé -GM", "Doucé " is a word created from a French word "douce", which means comfortable, friendly, smooth, and sweet, and GM means glutamine.
