CSPHP "SUPERSOY" Presentation
to highlight International Congress
of Nutrition 2001 technical session

 TOKYO, JAPAN - Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd (President and CEO, Dr. Tadashi Hirata) will introduce its new serum cholesterol-reducing soy peptide, CSPHP SuperSoy, to the global nutrition community at the 17th International Congress of Nutrition 2001, in Vienna, Austria.

 The new product fortifies soy's acknowledged serum cholesterol-reducing properties by binding enzymatic-decomposed lecithin to hydrolyzed isolated soy protein. In clinical trials, patients taking as little as 3 grams of CSPHP Kyowa SuperSoy per day saw their high cholesterol levels return to normal.

 For supplement, nutraceutical, and food producers, CSPHP Kyowa SuperSoy is a safe, cost-effective ingredient suitable for a wide range of products and processing systems. It is stable against pH conditions, heat treatments, and when combined with other components including protein, lipids, starch, emulsifiers and minerals. CSPHP Kyowa SuperSoy also offers improved taste, aroma and texture when compared to soy protein, hydrolyzed soy protein, or lecithin.

 First introduced as the lead technical session of the recently concluded IFT 2001 annual meeting (New Orleans, USA), company technical experts will focus on basic physiological aspects of the new product in their presentation to Congress attendees. The presentation, "Serum Cholesterol Reducing Soy Peptide CSPHP," will highlight session 2.4, "the Role of Nutrition in the Prevention of Chronic Diseases: Cardiovascular Health." The 2001 Congress is scheduled for August 27-31 at the Austria Center Vienna, Bruno-Kresiky Platz 1, Vienna, Austria.

 About CSPHP soy peptide - By combining soy protein hydrolyzate with phospholipids, CSPHP soy peptide enhances the natural, soy-reducing properties of soy.
