Based on basic principles concerning environment, safety and product safety, Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group formulates an annual environmental safety policy, objectives, targets and a plan for their achievement, and is promoting activities under both an environmental management system that integrates ISO14001 management and an occupational safety and health management system (OSHMS). Also under the Kyowa Eco-project, which is positioned as a group-wide environmental safety program aimed at the purpose of prevention of global warming and zero emissions, we are promoting energy saving and fuel conversion at our plants. The scope of our activities also extends to the office environment where our Green Office Plan tackles the reduction of electricity consumption and paper use.
Based on Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group Management Philosophy, we will exert ourselves to realize an affluent society by conducting business activities with scientific consideration for health, safety, the environment and product safety throughout the entire life cycle of each of our products. That extends from research and development through production, marketing, use and disposal. At the same time, we are making efforts to ensure the quality and safety of our products, taking the safety of consumers as a matter of the greatest importance.
Kyowa Hakko Kirin has participated in Responsible Care. In all process with each company handling chemicals, throughout development, manufacture, distribution, use, and final consumption, global chemical industry work together to improve “environment, safety and health” voluntarily, and is carrying out activity which releases results of activities and performs dialog and communication with society. This activity is called the responsible care.
From the perspective of the sustainability of active conduct of business, our “Sustainability Report” which summarized social aspects of the business activities and the environmental aspects is published every year.
