In the core fields of cancer, renal diseases and immune system disorders, Kyowa Hakko Kirin leverages leading-edge biotechnologies centered on antibody technologies, to continually discover innovative new drugs and to develop and market those drugs around the world. In this way, we are working to realize our vision of becoming a Japan-based global specialty pharmaceutical company that contributes to the health and comfort of people around the world.

The Kyowa Hakko Kirin Mission
The mission of Kyowa Hakko Kirin is to respond earnestly to the needs of patients who are suffering from diseases for which there exist no effective treatments, their families, and the health care professionals fighting the diseases at the frontline. To fulfill this mission, we are continually working to enhance our R&D capabilities, centered on therapeutic antibodies. We have given careful consideration to our own values, and as a result we have established “Sharing Values, Aims, and Ideals; Team Kyowa Hakko Kirin,” which outlines the spirit and aspirations that unite the people who work at Kyowa Hakko Kirin. Even as we continue to take on new challenges and make new progress in the years ahead, we will return to these values each day.

In addition to pharmaceuticals, the Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group carries out business activities in the fields of bio-chemicals and chemicals. The Group’s activities are guided by its management philosophy of “contributing to the health and well-being of people worldwide by creating new value with the pursuit of advances in life sciences and technology.” On that basis, the Group is aiming for global growth, principally Kyowa Medex, which supports one facet of pharmaceutical operations in the field of diagnostic reagents; Kyowa Hakko Bio, which utilizes industry-leading fermentation and synthesis technologies to provide amino acids and other products used as raw materials for pharmaceuticals and infusions; and Kyowa Hakko Chemical, which provides a variety of chemical products that contribute to the global environment and comfortable lifestyles.
